$11.6 million in grant funding for female entrepreneurs

The Boosting Female Founders Initiative Round 2 is open for Expression of Interest to support eligible female founded startup businesses to expand into domestic and global markets.

Eligible applicants must be a female founded (majority owned and led by women) startup, including incorporate entities, partnerships and sole traders.

For this program, Startup is defined in the Glossary at Section 14 of the guidelines as “an early stage, innovative or disruptive business that is scalable and working on a new or novel product, service or has a different business model”.

Activities eligible for funding include:

  • developing software and apps

  • launching and scaling products

  • product development and marketing

  • purchase of equipment to enable growth

  • expansion to other markets

  • access to independent management

  • access to relevant professional development

Applicants which are successful at the EOI stage will be invited to apply for Stage Two.

Successful Stage Two Applications wwill be offered grants between $25,000 and $480,000 on a 50% co-contribution basis, and up to 70% grant funding in some circumstances. The program will also provide expert mentoring and advice to meritorious applicants.

Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 5pm (AEST) on 22 April 2021.
