Anne studied Agribusiness (Aquaculture) to Honours level at Curtin University in Western Australia, and has significant experience in applied research, in Government and with the small and medium enterprise sector. Prior to forming GrantSmart in 2006, Anne worked within State and Federal Governments, including the Department of Agriculture and Food WA both as a Research Scientist, and in the Trade and Development Directorate in the role of International Trade Policy Officer. During this time Anne provided policy advice and briefings to the Minister on various trade policy issues, as well as representing the interests of the WA Agriculture and Food sector to the State and Federal Governments and the negotiating teams in the successful negotiation of Free Trade Agreements with both the United States and Thailand. Anne has also worked with AusIndustry, the Federal Government's key agency for delivering Government Grants, services and information that support industry, research and innovation, providing a unique insight into the workings of government and the assessment process. Anne works with public and private companies, Local and State Government agencies and groups; research and educational institutions, community groups, industry bodies and is the leading grants consultant to the Food Industry Association of WA Inc. Anne serves on the Variety WA Toy Bank committee, which coordinates the collection and distribution of toys, games and play equipment to womens refuges across WA. Anne has a proven excellent success rate in securing competitive grant funding for GrantSmart clients across all sectors and, having worked within AusIndustry for three years, has an inside knowledge and experience of the grant assessment process, providing a unique advantage for grant applicants.
